Hope

Hey PACfans-
It's been awhile since I wrote on the blog so I wanted to just write a few lines.  I figure that it would be more worthwhile to write a few meaningful words than a bunch of random stuff.
I have been writing for the new album for a few months now.  To be honest I have been a little concerned.  I was worried that maybe I was dried up or maybe all my songs were already written.  I have couple that were pretty good and I was happy with them but there was something missing.  I couldn't figure out what it was.  I kept trying all the "tricks" that worked in the past.  Dark rooms, candles, trying to conjure up memories that had worked to strike the creative chords... but nothing seemed to be working...
A couple of night ago I was sound asleep and about 3:17am my computer turned on by itself in the other room and somehow pulled up one of my songs on YOUtube and started playing it full blast.  Obviously things like that don't just happen [...]

Hey PACfans-
It's been awhile! I wanted to just write a little note to you and let you know my thoughts.  I have started writing and recording the new album! So I'm taking a little break while in the studio to write this.  So much has happened this past year.  I wanted to start the album earlier but I have had a couple of very difficult losses personally in the last year and it has taken me some time to get to the point where I could make sense of music.
It's funny because in those dark days, I felt all of you.  The music and you were what helped me get through that.  Of course there are days where there is still sadness and a feeling of loss still.  I was thinking today about how music has always been sort of my therapy and a barometer of where I am in my life.
When I was in my late teens i discovered Tori Amos just as I was going out on my own and trying to deal with emotional scars that pack a blow.  Tori's music was perfect because it [...]

HEY PACFANS-
I just wanted to say thank you so so much for this last year. It has been pretty amazing. So many things to be thankful for.  2009 is in the books.  It brought a lot of great and amazing things.  So many amazing people and supporters and new fans have come along to make the hard times totally worth it.
I hope you all have an amazing holiday season.  Mine was touched with sadness as I had to say goodbye to my grandpa who always stood by my side-always.  I get so much of who I am from him.  I will spend 2011 celebrating his life.
We have the official YOUTUBE site up and going and we are adding new videos and clips and music up all the time. So check it out if you haven't.  www.youtube.com/patrickalancasey and of course my website www.patrickalancasey.com where you can purchase music, merchandise, fan info, concert dates, etc.
This will be an amazing year for us all.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for going on this journey [...]
